Terms of Use
Introduction
Permission.io, Inc. (“Permission”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) operates various cryptocurrencies, including ASK and others, various blockchains, websites, blogs, forums, various mobile applications and platforms, including https://permission.io, all subdomains of https://permission.io, and others (all operations collectively referred to herein as the “Services”). These terms of use (“Terms of Use”) describe the terms and conditions applicable to your use of any and all Services operated by us that include a link to these Terms of Use. If there is a link to these Terms of Use on any website, mobile application or online service you are visiting, these Terms of Use apply. We may also offer mobile applications and websites that have their own terms of use. Please refer to the terms of use associated with the website or mobile application you are using for the governing terms of use. End users of the Services are collectively referred to herein as “you”, “your”, and “Members”.
Your access to and use of the Services is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and to these Terms of Use. By accessing, browsing, commenting, or purchasing services or goods on the Services, you agree to be bound, without limitation or qualification, to these Terms of Use, which form a legally binding contract. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, you may not use the Services.
Eligibility and Age Requirements
Minimum Age Requirements
Permission's Platforms and Sites are not intended for or directed to children under the age of 13. In order to open an account and participate in any of the Permission Platforms or Sites, you must meet the minimum age requirements based on your location:
- If you reside in the United States: You must be at least 13 years old to manage your own Permission Account.
- If you reside outside of the United States: You must meet the minimum age required by the laws of your jurisdiction to form a binding contract. In most countries, this is typically 16 years old, but it may vary.
If you are under the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction (usually 18), you represent and warrant that you have obtained your parent’s or legal guardian’s approval to access and use the Permission Platforms or Sites.
If we receive actual notice or have reason to believe that you are under the minimum age in your jurisdiction and do not have verified parental consent, we will:
- Terminate your access to Permission Platforms and Sites,
- Deactivate your account, and
- Delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Some offerings on Permission Platforms and Sites may also be subject to additional age or parental consent restrictions.
Parental Responsibility and Consent
If you are the parent or legal guardian of a user under the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, by allowing your child to use the Permission Platforms or Sites, you agree to:
- Be bound by these Terms,
- Assume responsibility for your child's activities on the Platform, and
- Fully indemnify and hold Permission harmless if the child breaches any of these Terms.
Account Suspension Due to Age Requirements
If we learn that you do not meet the age requirements for a Permission Account, you will have 14 days to provide proof of age or parental consent, or your account will be permanently disabled.
For more information regarding age-specific requirements and data collection, please refer to the Age Verification and Parental Consent section of our Privacy Policy.
Account Management
Single Account Policy
You are permitted to open only one (1) Account. An Account is any and all access to the Services. Only one Account is allowed per user. Multiple accounts held by the same individual are subject to immediate closure, and we reserve the right to seize any funds or cryptocurrencies (including ASK) gained as a result of holding multiple Accounts. Furthermore, you shall not permit another person to access the Services via your Account without the express authorization of Permission.
Registration-Related Account Security
Some Services or portions of Services may be accessible only through a registration process or with specific credentials. For such access-restricted portions of the Services, it is a violation of these Terms of Use for you to: (a) create more than one personal profile, (b) create another account without our permission if we disable your account; (c) share your login credentials, (d) let anyone else access your account, or (e) do anything else that might jeopardize the security of your account.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activities that occur under your account.Â
Inactive Accounts and Dormancy
To maintain the integrity of our platform and ensure the active participation of our Members, Permission requires that accounts meet minimum activity standards.
Definition of Activity: An account is considered Active if the account holder performs both of the following activities within a twelve (12) month period:
- Logs into their Permission account, and
- Completes an earning event, such as participating in a survey, engaging with a brand offer, or otherwise earning ASK through Permission’s platform.
Earning events must be new activities initiated by the user, not passive earnings from referrals or recurring rewards from actions taken more than twelve (12) months prior.
Dormant Status and Notice of Inactivity: If your account remains inactive for twelve (12) consecutive months-meaning you have neither logged in nor completed an earning event-it may be classified as Dormant. If an account is marked as Dormant, Permission will send you a notification via the email address associated with your account, giving you thirty (30) days to reactivate your account by completing both required activities.
If you do not take action within the thirty (30) day window, Permission reserves the right to:
- Close your account,
- Reclaim any ASK held in your Pending Balance (not in your on-chain wallet), and
- Remove your account from active status.
Important: Once ASK is withdrawn from your Pending Balance to your on-chain wallet, it is beyond Permission’s control and cannot be clawed back or reclaimed, even if your account becomes inactive.
Account Reactivation: If your account has been closed due to inactivity, you may request reactivation by contacting Permission Support. Reactivation is subject to Permission’s discretion and may include verification of your identity and re-acceptance of Permission's Terms of Use.
Right to Modify: Permission reserves the right to modify these inactivity policies at any time. Any changes will be communicated through updates to these Terms of Use and, where appropriate, via email notification.
Violations; Suspension and Termination of Usage
We may terminate or suspend your access to all or part of the Services immediately and without notice for any conduct that Permission, in its sole discretion, believes is in violation of any applicable law or is harmful to the interests of Permission or any third party. Upon termination, you must cease use of the Services and all related content. Permission reserves the right to seek all remedies available at law and in equity for violations of these Terms of Use, including the right to block access to a Permission Service from a particular Internet address.
Data Use and Privacy
At Permission, your data is your asset, and we believe you should be rewarded for choosing to share it. Our platform is designed to empower you with control, transparency, and opportunities to earn from your engagement with brands and other data-driven experiences.
Brand Engagement and Data Sharing
When you interact with brands on our platform-whether by clicking on advertisements, participating in surveys, downloading applications, or opting into special offers-Permission shares your personal information exclusively with those specific brands for the purpose of delivering personalized experiences and offers. This sharing is done with your explicit consent at the time of engagement.
You understand and agree that:
- Opt-In Driven Sharing: Your personal information is shared only with brands you click on, opt into, or otherwise engage with through Permission’s Services.
- Brand Communications: By opting into a brand’s offer, you consent to receiving communications and promotions directly from that brand.
- Brand Privacy Policies: Each brand’s use of your information is governed by its own privacy policy, which you should review when opting in.
- Opting Out of Brand Communications: You can opt out of receiving further communications from a specific brand by following the opt-out instructions provided by that brand, as outlined in their Privacy Policy.
Automated Decision-Making
Permission utilizes automated decision-making technologies to optimize user experiences, deliver personalized brand opportunities, and maintain the integrity of our platform. These automated processes analyze your engagement history, preferences, and platform interactions to make real-time decisions that enhance your earning potential and platform interactions.
Automated decision-making is applied in the following scenarios:
- Ad Targeting and Personalization: Automated algorithms determine which brand offers, surveys, or earning opportunities are most relevant to you based on your opt-ins, interactions, and platform engagement.
- Fraud Detection and Account Verification: Automated systems are used to identify suspicious activity, duplicate accounts, or patterns that may indicate fraudulent behavior.
- Reward Calculation and Distribution: Rewards are calculated and distributed based on your engagement, completed offers, and validated participation, using automated mechanisms for efficiency and accuracy.
- Data Matching and Verification: Automated systems may be used to verify data consistency and account authenticity when you connect third-party wallets or participate in specific earning opportunities.‍
- AI Features and Automated Decision-Making: Our Services may include AI-driven features that personalize your experience and suggest relevant content or interactions. These features rely on automated decision-making to analyze your preferences, behavior, and consent settings. You can manage your participation in these features at any time in your account settings.
You have the right to:
- Request Human Intervention: If you believe that an automated decision has been made in error, you may request human intervention to review the decision.
- Obtain an Explanation: You are entitled to receive an explanation of the logic, criteria, and significance of the automated decision-making process.
- Contest Decisions: If you disagree with an automated decision that affects your rewards, account status, or access to opportunities, you may challenge the decision through our support team at support@permission.io.
For more information, please review our Privacy Policy.
Data Use, Monetization, and Consent
At Permission, your data is your asset — and we believe you should be rewarded for choosing to share it. From time to time, Permission may offer data-driven rewards programs (“Rewards Programs”) under which you may have the opportunity to earn ASK tokens through your participation in or interaction with:
- Brand engagement, including advertisements, surveys, and special offers
- Personalized content experiences based on your preferences
- AI-powered features such as the Permission Agent
- Aggregated and anonymized data insights used for broader marketing initiatives
- New data-sharing experiences introduced by Permission, which will always require your explicit opt-in
Participation in these Rewards Programs is entirely voluntary, and you will always be provided clear information about the nature of data collection and its intended use before opting in.
As part of the Services, Permission may also offer users access to an AI-powered digital assistant known as the Permission Agent. This persistent, intelligent agent is designed to help you manage your data-sharing preferences, surface relevant opportunities, and facilitate interactions with brands, platforms, and other digital services. The Permission Agent may support both active and passive data activations that result in the accrual of ASK or other rewards, subject to your configured preferences and applicable terms.
By using the Permission Agent, you authorize it to act on your behalf within the scope of your explicit permissions — including presenting offers, managing wallet interactions, and coordinating data exchanges with third parties. Data shared through the Agent will be governed by your preferences and the disclosures set forth in our Privacy Policy.
You remain in control at all times. Participation in Rewards Programs, including those involving the Permission Agent, is always opt-in. You may adjust or revoke permissions within your account settings at any time. Permission reserves the right to improve, suspend, or discontinue the Permission Agent or related features at its discretion. You are responsible for managing your interactions through the Agent in accordance with these Terms.
Managed Opt-Out Options
If you wish to stop sharing your data with participating brands or discontinue participation in any Rewards Programs, you can adjust your settings at any time on the Permission platform. Additionally, you may opt out directly with brands by following the opt-out instructions they provide in their privacy policies.Â
We believe your data is valuable and should be treated with respect. That’s why we’ve built a system where you are in control-not the brands, not the platform-just you.
For more information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
Rewards, Withdrawals, and Redemption
At Permission, we believe you should be rewarded for the value you bring to the digital ecosystem. You may have the opportunity to earn ASK tokens or other cryptocurrency rewards by engaging with participating brands and experiences on the platform. This includes data you choose to provide directly, data collected based on your use of the Services, and data you consent to share from connected sources. You may earn rewards through a range of qualifying actions, including (but not limited to):
- Clicking on brand offers and advertisements
- Opting into sponsored surveys
- Downloading partner applications
- Connecting your wallet or social accounts
- Participating in branded experiences
- Engaging in AI-powered interactions that use your shared data
All rewards are credited to your account in accordance with the specific terms of each Offer and subject to tracking and validation by Permission or its partners.
In addition to earning ASK by directly engaging with Offers and branded experiences, you may also earn rewards through the Permission Agent. For example, rewards may accrue when your consented data is used for targeting, segmentation, or personalization in advertising and AI workflows. These activations are governed by your privacy settings and require your prior opt-in, which is managed through the Agent.
Pending Balance and Withdrawal Threshold
When you complete a qualifying Offer, your earned rewards are credited to your Pending Balance. This balance represents the unwithdrawn value that remains in a pre-finalized state until you reach the required withdrawal threshold, which is set by Permission and may be adjusted at any time in our sole discretion. The threshold is published on the platform and reflects platform scale and usage.
Rewards in your Pending Balance are subject to review and validation and may be adjusted or clawed back if found to be invalid, unqualified, or fraudulently earned. This system protects the integrity of the platform and ensures that rewards reflect legitimate activity.
Once your Pending Balance meets or exceeds the withdrawal threshold, you may initiate a withdrawal. At that point, the ASK moves from Pending Balance to your on-chain wallet-a fully realized digital asset, secured on the blockchain, and out of Permission's control.
Completion and Validation of Offers
Rewards will only be credited to your Pending Balance after all Offer requirements have been fully met, including any specified time delays, interaction requirements, or third-party confirmations. Permission and its third-party partners validate Offer completion and track user activity. If a reward cannot be verified due to incomplete activity, system errors, or data mismatch, Permission reserves the right to deny or delay the crediting of that reward.
Adjustment and Clawback of Pending Rewards
To maintain a fair and accurate reward system, Permission reserves the right to:
- Adjust Pending Balances if Offers were incomplete or not properly validated
- Remove or claw back rewards that were fraudulently earned or earned in violation of these Terms
- Correct accounting or attribution errors that result in improper reward allocation
These rights apply only to rewards in the Pending Balance. Once rewards are withdrawn to your on-chain wallet, they are considered final and cannot be retrieved or reversed by Permission.
Reward Redemption
Rewards earned through the Permission Platform may be redeemed as specified at the time of redemption. Currently, rewards may be redeemed for gift cards from select third-party merchants as displayed on the platform.
Permission may impose additional redemption terms, including:
- Minimum or maximum redemption amounts
- Frequency limits on how often you may redeem
- Restrictions based on reward availability, account status, or offer conditions
The required number of ASK tokens, available redemption partners, and associated redemption values may be updated or modified at any time. All current terms are reflected on the platform. By proceeding with redemption, you confirm that you meet all applicable rules and agree to any additional conditions that apply.
Forfeiture of Rewards
Permission may revoke or remove unwithdrawn rewards under certain circumstances, including:
- Termination or suspension of your account for violation of these Terms
- Discovery of fraudulent behavior, duplicate accounts, or ineligible participation
- Incomplete or invalid completion of Offers or surveys
Any forfeiture applies only to rewards held in your Pending Balance. Once transferred to your on-chain wallet, ASK is fully in your control and cannot be adjusted or revoked by Permission.
Permission also reserves the right to disqualify users from current or future reward eligibility based on misuse of the platform or abuse of any Offers.
Verifying Identity and Eligibility
Before processing a withdrawal from your Pending Balance, Permission may request verification of your identity. This may include a government-issued ID, passport, driver’s license, or mobile phone verification. Permission may also use third-party verification services to securely complete this process.
Verification may be required to protect the platform and prevent fraudulent access. If you are unable or choose not to complete verification, Permission may temporarily pause withdrawals or restrict access to your Pending Balance until verification is completed.
Taxes and Reporting Obligations
You are solely responsible for determining and satisfying any tax obligations that may arise from your use of the Services, including the earning, holding, or transferring of ASK or other digital assets. Permission does not provide tax advice. You are encouraged to consult a tax professional to understand how applicable laws apply to your circumstances.
Hosted Wallet Services
Hosted Wallet Overview
As part of your Permission Account, Permission provides a hosted digital wallet (the "Permission Wallet"), enabling you to store, manage, and transact ASK cryptocurrency, as well as other supported digital assets ("Supported Digital Assets") directly within our platform. The Permission Wallet is designed solely for the purpose of holding and transacting Supported Digital Assets and is not intended for trading or exchange with other digital assets outside of Permission's supported list. We facilitate the secure storage of private keys associated with your digital assets.
Custody of Private Keys
Permission securely stores the private keys associated with your Permission Wallet in encrypted, protected storage. By using the Permission Wallet, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Permission is not liable for any loss of ASK or other digital assets resulting from unauthorized access to your wallet due to loss of credentials, phishing attacks, or vulnerabilities in your personal device.
- Permission does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Wallet and is not liable for temporary outages or disruptions.
- You are solely responsible for the security of your login credentials and any transactions initiated from your Permission Wallet.
- Permission is not responsible for losses or technical issues resulting from blockchain forks, changes in protocol, or other modifications to the underlying blockchain network.
Wallet Connect Integration
We enable users to connect third-party wallets through Wallet Connect for convenience. By linking your third-party wallet, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Permission does not control or manage third-party wallets or their respective private keys.
- Any transactions conducted through Wallet Connect are entirely at your own risk. Permission disclaims all liability for any losses, hacking, or vulnerabilities associated with third-party wallets.
- Issues arising from the use of third-party wallets, including failed transactions or lost assets, should be resolved directly with the third-party wallet provider.
Transactions and Network Fees
Transactions executed from your Permission Wallet may incur network fees ("Gas Fees"), which are charged by the blockchain network and are not controlled by Permission. You agree to bear all applicable network fees.
Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
Permission disclaims all liability for:
- Loss of ASK or any other digital assets due to security breaches, unauthorized access, or user negligence.
- Any vulnerabilities, security flaws, or software errors in the underlying blockchain or associated networks.
- Issues resulting from use of Wallet Connect or third-party wallets, including but not limited to hacking, loss of funds, or network failures.
- Service disruptions, including but not limited to scheduled maintenance, network congestion, or technical issues.
No Insurance or FDIC Coverage
Digital assets held in your Permission Wallet are not covered by any insurance, including but not limited to FDIC insurance. By using the Wallet Services, you acknowledge that digital assets are not insured against theft, loss, or cyber attacks.
Security and Data Protection
Data Security Measures
Permission is committed to safeguarding your personal data and digital assets. We implement a combination of administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction of your information. These measures include, but are not limited to:
- Encryption: All sensitive data, including personal information and wallet private keys, is encrypted both in transit and at rest.
- Access Controls: We employ strict access control mechanisms to ensure that only authorized personnel can access sensitive information.
- Regular Security Audits: We perform regular security assessments and audits of our systems to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.
- Data Minimization: We only collect and retain the data that is necessary to provide our Services effectively.
User Responsibilities
While we take significant steps to protect your information, you also have a role in safeguarding your account:
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your password and any authentication methods.
- You must promptly notify us at support@permission.io if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.
- Permission is not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized access to your account due to your failure to follow these precautions.
Wallet Security
The Permission Wallet is secured through advanced encryption methods. Permission securely stores private keys in protected, encrypted storage; however:
- You are responsible for the security of any linked third-party wallets connected via Wallet Connect.
- Permission disclaims liability for any loss or compromise of digital assets resulting from vulnerabilities, unauthorized access, or incorrect transactions initiated by you.
Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach that compromises the security, confidentiality, or integrity of your personal information, Permission will:
- Notify Affected Users Promptly: We will notify you without undue delay if your personal information has been accessed, stolen, or exposed in a manner that could lead to harm or unauthorized use.
- Report to Relevant Authorities: If required, Permission will notify the appropriate data protection authorities in accordance with GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable regulations.
- Provide Impact Details: Our notification will include information on the nature of the breach, the compromised data, actions taken to contain the incident, and recommended next steps for users.
- Mitigation Measures: We will take immediate steps to contain and investigate the breach, mitigate risks, and prevent future incidents.
Permission may also communicate with users through email, in-app notifications, or direct messaging to provide updates regarding the breach and recommended actions.
Digital Asset Transfers
In General
Your Permission Wallet enables you to send Supported Digital Assets to, and request, receive, and store Supported Digital Assets from, third parties by giving instructions through the Permission platform. Your transfer of Supported Digital Assets between your Permission Wallet, other digital wallets (including wallets off the Permission platform), and to and from third parties is considered a "Digital Asset Transfer." We recommend users send a small amount of Supported Digital Assets as a test before executing a significant transaction.
Pending Transactions
Once a Digital Asset Transfer is submitted to a blockchain network, the transaction may be unconfirmed and remain in a pending state for a period of time sufficient to allow confirmation of the transaction by the blockchain network. A Digital Asset Transfer is not complete while it is in a pending state.
Inbound Digital Asset Transfers
When you or a third party sends Digital Assets to your Permission Wallet from an external wallet not hosted by Permission ("Inbound Transfers"), the person initiating the transaction is solely responsible for executing the transaction properly, which includes ensuring that the Digital Asset being sent is a Supported Digital Asset that conforms to the specific wallet address.
Permission is not liable for unsupported Digital Assets sent to a Permission Wallet or for Supported Digital Assets sent to an incompatible wallet address. These assets may be permanently lost.Â
Outbound Digital Asset Transfers
When you send Supported Digital Assets from your Permission Wallet to an external wallet ("Outbound Transfers"), such transfers are executed at your instruction. You should verify all transaction information prior to submitting instructions. Permission disclaims any liability for:
- Incorrect blockchain destination addresses;
- Incorrect Destination Tags or Memos;
- Sending your Supported Digital Assets to an incompatible wallet.
Digital Asset Transfers cannot be reversed once they have been broadcast to the relevant blockchain network, although they may be in a pending state while the transaction is being processed. Permission does not control the blockchain network and makes no guarantees that a Digital Asset Transfer will be confirmed by the network. Permission may cancel or refuse to process any pending Outbound Digital Asset Transfers as required by law or any regulatory authority to which Permission is subject.
By using Permission Wallet Services, you acknowledge and accept these risks and responsibilities.
Referral Program
Overview
The Permission Referral Program (“Program”) allows registered users of Permission.io (“Referrer”) to earn rewards by referring friends and contacts (“Referees”) to join Permission and complete specific account verification requirements. By participating in the Program, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions, as well as our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Eligibility
- Please refer to the section titled “Eligilbility and Age Requirements” for more detailed information on age restrictions and account management requirements.
- Both the Referrer and Referee must be verified with appropriate ID documentation (e.g., passport, driver's license) to be eligible for rewards.
- Only one Permission.io account per individual is permitted. Multiple accounts tied to the same individual, even if unverified, will disqualify both the Referrer and Referee from earning rewards.
How the Program Works
- To participate, share your unique referral link with friends and contacts.
- When your Referee signs up using your link and successfully verifies their account with valid ID documentation, rewards will be credited to your pending balance.
- Only after the Referee’s account is verified will the Referrer be eligible to receive rewards.
- Rewards will appear as “Pending” until the Referee completes all necessary verification steps.
Reward Distribution
- Rewards are credited to your Permission.io account once verification is complete.
- The amount of the reward is determined by the current Program terms displayed within the Permission application.
- Rewards are subject to change at the discretion of Permission.
Fraud Prevention
- Permission reserves the right to withhold or retract rewards if fraudulent activity is suspected.
- Fraudulent activities include, but are not limited to:
- Creating multiple accounts
- Using fake or stolen identities
- Manipulating the referral process
- Circumventing verification requirements
- Any fraudulent behavior may result in disqualification from the Program and suspension or termination of your Permission account.
Program Modifications and Termination
- Permission.io reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Program at any time for any reason.
- In the event of program termination, any pending rewards not yet credited to your account will be forfeited.
